The LTC facility must develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that each resident and staff member is offered the COVID-19 vaccine when available, unless medically contraindicated or already immunized; that residents, representatives and staff receive education on the benefits, risks and potential side effects before it is offered; that the resident or representative may accept, refuse, or change that decision; and that the medical record documents the education provided and the decision made.
